Get towing with a Ford crossover and SUV
Trucks get all the attention when it comes to towing. That said, you'd be surprised how much some of our new Ford crossovers and SUVS can tow if you need to get a small camper out to Moapa for a weekend trip or bring a boat to the water to cool off.
Today we'll look at the tow ratings for our crossovers and SUVS. Of course, you'll want to work with our parts department to get your choice equipped with a tow package.
The Ford Escape
The Ford Escape is a small SUV/crossover, but it can do some light-duty towing. If you get the 1.5L EcoBoost engine with 179 horsepower and 177 lb-ft torque, you can tow up to 2,000 pounds. With the larger 2.0L EcoBoost that has 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft torque you can tow up to 3,500 pounds around Pahrump. That's nothing to sneeze at for the occasional towing needs!
The Ford Explorer
The three-row Ford Explorer is ready for family adventures and has a max towing of up to 5,000 pounds, which is pretty impressive when you consider the lightest tow-rating for a Ford F-150 pickup is the same amount! At this point you're in small camper territory.
The Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition is another three-row option, but it is larger than the Explorer and that equates to more power! You can tow up to 9,300 pounds with this ride, which is more than some trucks! You can easily bring a sizeable boat out to Las Vegas Boat Harbor which is approximately 45 minutes away from North Las Vegas.
Other models
We didn't forget our other models. The Ford Flex can tow up to 4,500 pounds and the Ford Edge up to 3,500 pounds. The all-new Ford EcoSport, a subcompact crossover, does not have any towing capacity.
