Compare the Ford F-150 with its Full Size Peers

When you need a full-size truck, you are looking for a truck that maxes out on power. Something that will let you work hard during the day and let you unwind afterward in North Las Vegas. The new Ford F-150 is one of the most famous trucks on the market with its legendary power and quintessential design. This impressive pickup offers you a diverse engine option, comfortable cabin, and sharp style, but how well does it stack up against the competition? At Team Ford, we want to give you the resources you need to make the right decisions, so we created a quick comparison between the F-150 and several of its competitors. Because when it comes to tackling your biggest jobs in Las Vegas, you want a truck that can keep up.

Ford F-150 vs. Chevy Silverado 1500

  • The standard F-150 V6 engine outperforms the Silverado 1500's in terms of sheer power. The 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine also uses modern technology to maximize efficiency and power on the F-150. The F-150 also currently offers a diesel option that gives you superb mileage and work-ready power, but the Silverado 1500 doesn't currently offer a diesel option. From the bottom to the top, every engine of the Ford F-150 towers over the Silverado in terms of power.
  • The F-150's new 10-speed automatic transmission now comes on all trim levels to give you a smooth and efficient drive across Parhump. It also features several different modes so you can optimize your performance and take more control of your drive. The 10-speed automatic of the Silverado is only available mated with certain powertrain options.
  • The F-150 also offers plenty of tech features on its base model which the Silverado 1500 doesn't like variable speed wipers, an available rear parking aid, and Brake Assist.

Ford F-150 vs. GMC Sierra 1500

  • Both of these trucks offer impressive engines with V8 and Diesel options giving you extra power, but the F-150 again shows up the Sierra 1500 with its superb power. The F-150's maximum towing also handily beat the Sierra 1500's with a 13,200-lb. maximum against the GMC's 12,500. This power lets you dominate the worksite and take on some of the toughest jobs you can think of.
  • Between the two, the F-150 is the only one that offers available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility on its base model. This means if you just want a work truck with a powerful multimedia system, you'll have to upgrade trim levels on the Sierra 1500. On the F-150, you can just opt for its entertainment system on the base level and be done with it.

Ford F-150 vs. Ram 1500

  • If you're looking for a truck with plenty of bells and whistles, then the Ram 1500 is a great choice, but for the drivers who know that a truck is only as good as its capabilities, the F-150 is a clear choice. Both trucks come with plenty of strength in the base models, but let's compare two fan-favorite trim levels.
  • The 1500 Rebel trim and the F-150 Raptor trim are two off-road trucks that have garnered huge fan bases. The Raptor remains the original off-road truck, and it has the tech and capabilities to prove it. The staggeringly powerful V8 engine gives you 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque while the 1500's engine gives you only 305 horsepower and 269. Add this to the expertly tuned suspension, and powerful tech features, and the F-150 dominates the off-road game. The Raptors comes equipped with four-wheel drive, a feature you have to pay a couple of extra grand for in the Rebel.
  • You can kind of apply this situation to most other F-150 comparisons: at the base trim the two trucks may be close to even, but as you rise through the trim levels, the F-150 gets more and more impressive.
